On the eve of Republic Day in 2023, 29 employees of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC), Department of Revenue, have received presidential awards.

Each year, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs’ officers and staff are given consideration for Presidential Award of Appreciation Certificates and Medals for “Exceptionally Meritorious Service rendered at the Risk of Life” and for “Specially Distinguished Record of Service” on the basis of their attaining and maintaining excellence in the performance of their duties. On the night before Republic Day, these honours are announced. 

For the Presidential Award of Appreciation Certificates and Medals for “Specially Distinguished Record of Service,” 29 officers and employees have been chosen this year. 

These officers were chosen based on their consistently excellent and faultless performance in their specialised fields of service. This year’s honorees include officers who have consistently served the department in a variety of capacities over the years, including those holding the positions of Principal Chief Commissioner, Commissioner, Additional Director General, Director, Additional Director, Joint Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, Chief Accounts Officer, Superintendent, Senior Intelligence Officer, Inspector, and Lower Division Clerk. 

The list of officers who have been chosen to receive the Presidential Award of Appreciation Certificates and Medal for “Specially Distinguished Record of Service” on the occasion of Republic Day in 2023 is shown below, along with their designation and current location of posting:
